TMCS PEPS-VX® Vibration Cancellation System is an
inexpensive three degree-of-freedom active vibration isolation system which
is used in conjunction with PEPS® TMCs
electronic non-contacting valving system and our line of pneumatic vibration
isolation mounts. It is designed for applications requiring a very high
degree of vibration isolation. PEPS-VX® builds on the proven
technology of air mount isolators by improving their performance in the
0.5-7 Hz frequency range while not sacrificing isolation at higher
frequencies.
This is accomplished by rapidly adjusting
the air pressure in the supporting pneumatic isolators in response
to signals derived from three inertial sensors mounted to the payload.
In this way, PEPS-VX® can actually suppress noise
in this frequency band by 20 dB or more.
Combined with the precision-leveling and feedforward
capability of PEPS®,
and when used with TMCs Compact
Sub-Hertz Pendulum System (CSP®),
the result is a vibration isolation system an order of magnitude
more efficient than a conventional passive air isolator.

Features: |
| |
- Controls the height, pitch and roll degrees-of-freedom
of a payload without additional actuators. The system relies solely
on the high-force, long-throw pneumatic mounts already in a system. No additional alignment of the payload is required.
-
Since PEPS-VX® uses existing
air mounts for the actuation, the incremental cost of the system
is extremely low.
-
Fully modular design allows system to be added
to an existing PEPS system
with only minor adjustments.
-
Can be retrofit to many existing pneumatic isolation
systems.
-
Feedforward inputs allow for electronic control
of a platforms alignment with other equipment or tables.
-
A true analog/proportional valving system
eliminates pulse noise introduced on the payload by
PWM systems.
-
The controller provides fully buffered analog
outputs indicating the platforms height, pitch, and roll.
-
A compact package measuring only 6.5(h)
x 1.8(w) x 7.5(d) inches. Power is provided
by PEPS.
-
Smart turn-on mode makes for a smooth power
up by only engaging system once platform is floating.
-
Simple design only three gain controls
to be set for normal operation (in addition to the three adjustments
required on the parent PEPS controller). All input/output functions
are accessible through a single DB-25 connector. Once configured,
its smart operation is controlled by PEPS.
-
All controls and access are on one side of the
package, and it can be powered by remote for ease of integration
into OEM applications. It can also be provided with gain adjustments
preset.
